A  Rare  Corner  Margin  Block  of  Four

Horses – Ceskoslovensko – Horses on engravings of five old masters. Postage-stamps (1 in colour) as upper right corner margin blocks of four. Published by the Czechoslovakian postal authorities on April 21/24, 1969. Steel engraving by Bedřich Housa (b. Prague 1926) together with autotype rotogravure. 12 x 8.5 cm (4.72 x 3.35 in) in upright or oblong. – Never hinged.

The highest value of the set and the one and only in colour, too, showing the title-sheet of Johann Elias Ridinger’s majestic 18-sheet set “New Riding School”, called also Large or Viennese School, of 1734 (Th. 628).
